League meet time

Conference meet weekend has arrived with local cross country teams trying to capture their league’s title before heading into the district meets next weekend.



The Northeast Ohio Conference, Portage Trail Conference, Suburban League and Akron City Series all host meets Saturday with teams from Summit and Medina Counties.


The Valley Division of the NOC should prove to be a highly competitive race for both the boys and girls. That division holds seven teams that are currently ranked in the top 20 of the current cross country poll.

The Medina boys team has proven to be a speedy team all year led by four runners that can finish in under 18:30. Hudson will prove to be a challenger to Medina led by Tim McConnell. The Explorer senior is coming off winning the Stow Invitational. Also a likely contender is Strongsville, who is currently ranked 18th in the state.
