RAY'S SL NOTES
By RAY HORNER

WADSWORTH, Ohio -- In the Suburban League this week, we are going to talk digs, blocks, serves and hits.

That is, we're going to look at the highly competitive SL volleyball race.

Wadsworth seems to be the cream of the crop, but Green and Revere are right there with the Grizzlies, and the rest of the pack has plenty of talent as well.

The Grizzlies are off to a 5-0 start, including an impressive win over Firestone last weekend. Senior Julie Bassett, an honorable mention Division I All-Ohioan last year, had 23 digs in that one, while senior Sarah White contributed 17 assists and junior Rachel Jones hammered 14 kills.

“Julie is just an outstanding hitter as she can hit kills from any angle, and Rachel is everywhere on the court with her quickness and athletic ability,” Wadsworth coach Jill Quayle said.

Senior Megan Crawford is also big for the team.
